Skills you’ll actually use, people you’ll actually see again
A normal cooking class teaches you a dish and sends you home to a empty kitchen. Ours ends the way cooking is supposed to: around a table, eating the evidence. Six home cooks — matched by generation and kitchen confidence, from "burns water" to "sous-vides for fun" — one host keeping the bench friendly.
The format flexes: fresh pasta nights, dumpling folds, curry from scratch, the perfect steak. The point isn’t the certificate; it’s that cooking beside someone is the fastest way to know them.
How a night runs
- Join free — city, generation, how brave your knife work is
- We match six cooks — human-reviewed groups, beginners genuinely welcome
- Vote on the venue — teaching kitchens and long-table spots from the club directory, revealed 24 hours before
- Cook, then sit down — hosted, first names only, the meal is the agenda
- Do it again — circles keep a good crew together in five UK cities
More than the kitchen
50+ activities run across London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol and Brighton — the dinners and wine tastings are the natural next step once you can cook.
Local flavour: pub-adjacent and weather-proofed — this is Britain, we plan accordingly.
Common questions
Do I need to know how to cook?
No. Nights are pitched social, not technical — if you can chop and chat, you’re set. The host keeps anyone from julienning a finger.
What’s included?
The matched crew, the host and the venue. Ingredients and any hire cost are set out before you book — no surprises.
What does it cost?
Founding members start free. After that a get-together is 12 credits — about £5 — plus any class or ingredient cost.
Dietary needs?
Telled at booking and shared with the venue ahead of the night — nobody gets the "just eat the salad" treatment.
Dinner tastes better when you made it
