What actually happens on the night.
No surprises, except the good kind. Here is exactly how a get-together runs — from saving your seat to the follow-up the next day — so the only unknown left is the five people you’re about to like.

Before: book, vote, reveal
Browse What’s on, pick a night that sounds like you, and tap Save my seat — 12 credits from your wallet, and founding members start with 50 free. That’s the admin done.
Booked members then vote on where the night happens, from a club-vetted shortlist. The exact venue stays secret until 24 hours before, when it’s revealed by email and on your bookings page. It’s a small bit of theatre — and it means nobody spends three weeks worrying about logistics.
Arriving: the first ninety seconds
Your host is there fifteen minutes early — that’s their job. You walk in, give your first name, and hear “G’day, you must be Sam” back. First names only, always: no surnames, no name tags, no lanyards.
You’re shown to the table, introduced to whoever’s already there, and the nervous part is over before your drink arrives. Coming alone is the design, not the risk — most of the table did exactly the same thing.
The shape of the night
Every get-together has a conversation menu — a short set of prompts in three courses, written for the activity and the crew. The host uses it lightly: a question to open, a deeper one once everyone’s warmed up, something playful to finish.
There are no speeches, no “fun facts bingo”, and no pressure to perform. Dinner runs about two hours; coffees and breakfasts are shorter; sport and walks end with the important part — coffee or brunch after.
Who you’ll meet
The club matches each table by city, generation, interests and intent — social, open to love, or a bit of both — and a human reviews every new group before invites go out. Six at dinner, more for sport and walks.
Intent is printed on every seat, so the vibe is never a guessing game: a social night stays social, and an open-to-love table is there for the same reason you are.
After: the follow-up
That evening the app asks who you’d happily see again — no, yes, or in a heartbeat. Your answers stay secret unless two people pick each other; then surnames, contact details and chat unlock, and the club invites you both into a circle.
Nothing mutual? Nothing awkward. Nobody knows who picked what, and your next get-together is already on the board. How feedback and circles work.
What it costs
The seat: 12 credits — about $6 from the $25 pack of 50, and free while founding memberships last. The venue: whatever you order, at venue prices, settled with them directly. We never mark up a bill, and credits never expire.
Common questions
Do I have to talk?
You have to be there — that’s genuinely it. The host keeps conversation moving and the menu does the lifting. Quiet people do very well at these; listening is a table sport too.
What if I don’t click with anyone?
It happens, and it’s fine. Say so in the follow-up (or don’t answer at all — it’s private) and the matching learns. There’s no pressure to pick anyone, and no one ever knows you didn’t.
How long does a get-together go for?
Dinner is about two hours; coffee and breakfast under one; sport, walks and gigs vary. Leaving early is completely fine — just let the host know.
Is drinking expected?
Never. Plenty of venues are licensed but nobody counts your glass — coffee, breakfast, sport and arts get-togethers are every bit as popular, and the host’s job is conversation, not rounds.
That’s the whole evening.
