Communities

Find your people. Then keep them.

A get-together is one good night. A community is how it becomes a standing one. LMTW communities are real crews — city-local, interest-led, and run by trained Captains — so the people you click with on Tuesday are the same people you’re planning with by Friday. Browse by city and interest, join in one tap, and if your city’s still warming up, be the one who starts it.

Two kinds of community

City-local communities are the heart of it: public crews anchored to your city — a run club that actually runs near you, a book club whose members you’ll keep bumping into. They’re discoverable by every member in the city, and joining is instant: no application, no waiting to be accepted.

Interest collectives are the global lenses over the whole club — The Table Collective for food people, Coffee & Conversation, The Sports Collective, the Games Night Collective, Arts & Nights Out, and The Double Date, where couples book as a pair and every seat at the table is a couple. Pick a collective and your What’s on board tilts toward it: same city, same week, just more of your kind of night. Join as many as you like.

Browse by city and interest

Every community is anchored to a place, so browsing starts with your city — the app shows you the crews actually near you, with live member counts, not a directory of ghosts. From there it’s by interest: each community leans into an activity, from long lunches to bushwalks to trivia leagues.

City still warming up? That’s what founding members are for. Communities are started by local Captains, and the club gives new cities the same landing page, waitlist and launch support — see where we’re live and coming next.

Hosted by verified Captains

Communities aren’t abandoned group chats. Only verified Captains and the club office can publish one — and Captains are trained through the free Captain Academy on exactly this: introductions, inclusion, pacing, and keeping a crew welcoming week after week.

The club office watches over every public community too. It’s the same standard as our get-togethers: a human in the loop, first names only, and a report button you’ll rarely need.

How joining works

Once you’re a member, joining a community is one tap — you’re in instantly, and the crew’s next get-together is on your board. Come along, see if it’s your people, stay if it is. Leave just as easily; no explanations owed.

Many communities start the organic way: a get-together goes well, two or more people say they’d meet again, and the club spins up a private crew from the match. The best ones aren’t found — they happen to you. How the follow-up works.

Start your own

The path is deliberately short: join the club, tap “Become a Captain” (approval is instant), host a few get-togethers, then publish your community for the whole city to find. Hosting is always free for the host — the club pays you +12 credits every night you run.

You’re not doing it alone: the Academy teaches the hosting craft, the club office backs every launch, and the playbooks cover 50+ activities across four generations. Everything about hosting.

Common questions

What does it cost to join a community?

Nothing extra. Joining communities and clubs is part of membership — credits are only ever spent on get-together bookings, and founding members start free.

What’s the difference between a community and a club?

Communities are city-local public crews — the people are actually near you and meet regularly. Collectives are global interest lenses (The Table Collective, The Sports Collective, The Double Date…) that tilt your What’s on board toward your kind of night, wherever you are.

Can I start a community?

Yes — Captains can publish public communities, and becoming a Captain is instant once you’re a member. The free Captain Academy trains you, and the club office supports every launch.

Do I have to live in the city to join its community?

Communities are anchored to your home city — that’s the point. It keeps every crew local enough that “same time next week?” is a real plan, not a pipe dream.

One good night is how it starts. A community is how it keeps going.
