Facebook gets the reach. We run the night.
If you organise dinners, drinks or a run club through Facebook events, you already know the shape of it: forty “Going”, sixty “Interested”, and a headcount you won’t know until the night. The reach is real — the tooling isn’t. LMTW is the social connection club built for exactly this: hosted get-togethers, matched crews, a bond on every seat, and Captains who earn credits instead of chasing RSVPs. Same warmth, none of the group-chat logistics.

Facebook events vs LMTW, side by side
| Facebook event | LMTW get-together | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free to create | Free to host — Captains never spend credits on their own events |
| Headcount | “Going” is a vibe, not a commitment — expect a third to half to materialise | A 12-credit bond on every seat, refunded on attendance — bookings mean bodies |
| Logistics | You, in a group chat, forever: reminders, venue polls, “are we still on?” | Hosted, matched, seated — the club books it, matches the crew, reveals the venue 24 hours out |
| Who turns up | Whoever the algorithm showed it to | Around six members matched by generation, interests and intent — reviewed by a human |
| Money | None for you — reach is the payment | +12 credits every night you host, plus full-house and five-night bonuses, via the earnings program |
| After the night | The thread goes quiet until next time | Mutual-only follow-ups, circles and chat — the good tables keep meeting |
The group chat is not an event platform
Every Facebook organiser runs the same unpaid second job: posting the reminder, answering the same three questions, making the booking with a guess for a number, then texting “table’s under Sam” to thirty people at 6pm. The platform gives you distribution and nothing else — the actual organising is still yours, and it’s still free labour.
LMTW deletes that job. The club handles the matching, the booking, the reminders and the reveal. Your job on the night is the humans: arrive early, greet by name, keep the table warm. That’s a host’s job, and the Captain Academy teaches it free.
“Interested” doesn’t fill a table
The structural problem with a free RSVP is that it costs nothing to break. Nobody plans to no-show; it’s just that nothing is lost by not showing. So the organiser books for twelve, seats for six arrive, and the restaurant gives you the look.
On LMTW every seat carries a 12-credit bond — about $6 of skin in the game, refunded on attendance. Cancel inside the free window and it’s all returned; simply not arriving is the only expensive option. The result is the thing Facebook can’t sell you: a headcount you can believe.
Keep the Facebook group — it’s your top of funnel
This isn’t either/or. Plenty of Captains keep their Facebook group exactly where it is: it’s the billboard. Post your LMTW nights there, and let the club do the part Facebook never could — matching the right six people, holding their seats with a bond, and turning one good night into a standing crew.
Your regulars can join free as founding members, and if the group deserves to outlive the algorithm, publish it as a community the whole city can find. See how the club works end to end, or go straight to hosting your own dinner club.
Common questions
What does it cost to host on LMTW?
Nothing — hosting is always free for the host. Captains never spend credits on their own events, and the club pays +12 credits every night you run, plus bonuses for full houses and every fifth night.
Can I move my Facebook group over?
Yes, and you don’t need to migrate anyone to start: the club fills your first table by matching its own members. Most Captains keep the Facebook group as a billboard and post their LMTW nights there — regulars join free as founding members.
How does LMTW stop the no-show chaos?
Every seat carries a 12-credit bond, refunded on attendance. Cancelling in the free window costs nothing; not showing up does. When a “yes” has a price, the headcount you see is the headcount you get.
Is it safe?
Every member is onboarded, every new group is reviewed by a human before invites go out, get-togethers are hosted in public venues, and the table runs on first names only. 18+ only.
Hosted, matched, seated — and no group-chat logistics. Ever.
