How LMTW works, from first tap to first hello
LMTW — Let’s Meet This Week — is the social connection club, live across Australia, the US and the UK. Tell us a little about yourself and we match you into a small crew of people your age, then host the get-together so all you have to do is show up. Here’s the whole journey, honestly told. Founding members start free: no card, 18+, your first get-together is on us.

1. Tell the club about yourself
Joining takes about four minutes, in the browser — no app download, no card details. You tell us your generation, your interests, and your intent: friends, open to love, or a bit of both. That’s the whole profile. No photos to curate, no bio to workshop, no swiping.
Your intent matters because it’s shown on the night. Everyone at the table can see who’s there for friendship and who’s open to more — friends first, romance welcome, never required. No guessing games, no mixed signals.
2. Matched by the club — with a human double-check
The algorithm shortlists a crew of around six people: your age range, overlapping interests, compatible intent, same city. Then — and this is the part the apps skip — a human reviews every group before the invites go out. We’re looking for the things software misses: the lopsided table, the likely clash, the pairing that’s technically fine and practically awkward.
We don’t mix generations at our get-togethers. Your crew, your pace, your kind of night. Read more about who’s in the club on Who it’s for.
3. Your crew votes on the venue — 24 hours later, it’s revealed
Once the crew’s set, everyone votes on the venue from our directory of thousands of group-friendly spots — wine bars, board game cafés, pickleball courts, walking trails. Majority rules, ties go to the host’s judgment.
The venue stays secret until 24 hours before the get-together, when it’s revealed to the crew. It keeps the focus on the people rather than the postcode, and it gives everyone the same small thrill of opening the reveal.
4. The get-together itself
Show up and your name’s on a seat. Every get-together is hosted — by a trained club Captain — so there’s no hovering by the door wondering who to approach. The host does the introductions, and the table runs on first names only.
On every seat there’s a conversation menu: a short list of prompts that actually work, tuned to your crew’s generation. It’s there when the table needs it and invisible when it doesn’t. Six strangers walk in; six people who know each other leave.
5. After the hello
Back in the club, you mark who you’d happily see again. Your answers are secret unless it’s mutual — if you both say yes, you’re connected; if not, nobody ever knows. No rejection, no awkwardness, no “so… did you mark me?”
From there, circles and chat turn one good night into a standing arrangement: the trivia team, the hiking crew, the breakfast club regulars. Your bookings page keeps the names of everyone you’ve met, so “what was her name?” is never a problem again.
6. What it costs — and the Captain path
No subscription, no lock-in. A $25 pack buys 50 credits, and a get-together costs 12 — about $6, only when you go. Credits never expire, attend five and earn five back, and founding members get their first 50-credit pack free with the price locked for life.
Fancy paying nothing at all? Become a Captain: host get-togethers, earn +12 credits every time, and never spend credits on your own events. The Captain Academy trains you — free, about an hour, Toastmasters-style. Browse the 11 ways to meet while you’re at it.
Common questions
Is LMTW legit — and is it safe?
Yes on both counts. LMTW is a Serious Tech Pty Ltd initiative, every group is reviewed by a human before invites go out, and get-togethers are hosted in public venues with first names only. 18+ only.
Do I have to come alone?
Most members do — coming alone is the norm and the design. Everyone at the table arrived not knowing anyone, which is exactly why it works.
What does it cost?
Founding members start free: a 50-credit pack on the house, no card required. After that, $25 buys 50 credits and a get-together costs 12 — about $6. You pay the venue separately for whatever you order.
What if I’m shy?
You’re in the majority. Six people, a trained host, first names only, and a conversation menu on every seat — structured, low-pressure and warm. Nobody is ever left to work a room.
