LMTW. Let’s Meet This Week
Perth

How to make friends in Perth, the world’s most isolated capital

Perth’s isolation has an upside nobody mentions: when you find your people here, they’re really your people. Getting to that point is the hard part — so LMTW built the shortcut: hosted get-togethers of around six, matched by generation, interests and intent, from Fremantle long lunches to Northbridge games nights. Eleven activities, any night, free for founding members.

The Perth paradox

Two million people, endless sunshine, world-class coastline — and a nightlife-and-brunch scene concentrated in a handful of postcodes (Northbridge, Fremantle, Leederville, Mount Lawley) where everyone seems to already know each other. Add FIFO rosters and sprawl and “let’s catch up” can mean “see you in three months”.

LMTW works around all of that: matched crews of six, any night of the week (roster-friendly), at venues members vote for — with a human reviewing every group before invites go out, so you never walk into a dud table.

What Perth members actually book

Eleven activities, from $5 — here’s how they tend to land in the west:

  • Sunset-friendly everything — run clubs from $15 and bushwalks from $20 timed for the golden hour, coffee or a pub feed after
  • Fremantle long lunches from $45 — the format Freo was invented for
  • Dinner parties of six from $59 — hosted, matched, agenda on every seat; members vote the venue
  • Coffee catch-ups from $5 — Leederville to Vic Park, the lowest-stakes hello going
  • Breakfast club from $18 — beach-adjacent, obviously
  • Games nights from $20 and gigs from $35 — Northbridge, done properly
  • Pickleball & social sport from $18 — beginner-friendly, zero athletic pedigree required
  • Arts outings from $30 and fine dining from $120 — for the culture-and-cloth-napkin crews

Your first week with the club

Four minutes to join — generation, interests, intent. Friends first; romance welcome, never required. No card, no app.

Matched, then human-checked. A crew of around six Perth locals your age; a person reviews every group before the invites go out.

Vote, then show up. The venue gets chosen by member vote from our 2,600-strong directory. Hosted night, name on your seat, conversation scaffolding provided.

Afterwards, the follow-up. Privately mark who you’d see again — secret unless mutual — then circles and chat. In a city this spread out, having a standing crew changes everything.

East coast? We’re in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane too. Nervous about the format? Read what a dinner with strangers actually feels like.

Common questions

Is LMTW free in Perth?

Yes — free for founding members. First get-together free, $0 membership locked for life, no card required. You pay the venue for your own food and drink, from $5 upwards.

What ages come along?

18 to 80, matched by generation. You’re seated with your peers — Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X or Boomer crews.

Do I have to come alone?

Almost everyone does. It’s the default, and the matched-table format means you won’t feel it for long.

What if I’m shy?

Six seats, a host, and an agenda on every seat. It’s structured for people who hate walking into rooms cold — that’s most of us.

I work FIFO — can this fit my roster?

That’s the point of running any night of the week. Get-togethers happen across the whole week, and you book the ones that fall on your break.

In the most isolated capital, your crew is closer than you think.
