LMTW. Let’s Meet This Week
About us

Why we built this.

LMTW — Let’s Meet This Week — is built in Australia by Serious Tech Pty Ltd. This page is why it exists, in our founder’s words.

Six friends around a long dinner table at golden hour, mid-laugh

The part nobody posts about

A few years ago I looked at my own life and noticed something quietly embarrassing: I knew more people than ever, and saw almost none of them. Work filled the week, old friends had scattered across suburbs and states, and every "we should catch up" dissolved into the group chat’s graveyard of good intentions.

And I’m one of the lucky ones — I have a network. Plenty of people are starting over: new city, a divorce, retirement, the kids gone, the office gone remote. For them the question isn’t "who should I see this week?" It’s "who is there, at all?"

The apps weren’t the answer

The tools we were handed to fix this are feeds. They promise connection and deliver performance — you come away from an hour of scrolling feeling like you’ve socialised, when all you’ve done is watch. Dating apps are worse: they turned meeting people into inventory management.

I don’t think we lack ways to talk. I think we lack occasions to meet. Someone has to book the restaurant, pick the night, gather the people. Nobody’s job is that. So I decided to build the thing whose job that is.

A club, not an app

LMTW exists to do the organising: you tell us what you enjoy, we match you with a small crew of your generation and your interests, a human checks the mix, a trained Captain hosts, and the venue is real and voted on. Six at dinner, more on a bushwalk. Friends first — romance welcome, never required.

The dream metric isn’t screen time. It’s the opposite: Wednesday nights that become standing bookings, walking crews that outlive the app, and members who eventually forget the club had anything to do with it.

What we’re asking of you

Only this: come once. Everyone at your first event arrived not knowing anyone — that’s the design, and it’s why it works. If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll get back out there "when things settle down", this is the nudge. Things don’t settle. Tables get set instead.

Common questions

Who runs LMTW?

LMTW is built and operated by Serious Tech Pty Ltd, a small Australian company. The club team reviews matched groups, trains Captains, and answers member reports personally.

Why a club instead of another app?

Because the gap was never messaging — it was organising. Someone has to pick the night, book the venue and gather the people. A club does that as its job; an app leaves it to you.

Is LMTW a dating app?

No. It’s a social connection club — friends first. Open-to-love events exist for people who want them, with balanced ratios and honest agendas, but friendship is the default and romance is never required.
